In less than 12 hours I head into the operating room for a nice little nap while my surgical team prepares for their end of this battle. At that moment, I get to to take my first vacation from this challenge and rest (until the fun times of the recovery room begin.) That moment is where I am asking you to begin…. I know so many of you have been fighting alongside me
with your prayers, positive energy and support… Hence, why I so fittingly dubbed you “My Army.” You all are where I derive my strength, and ultimately the reason why I will beat this challenge. Unfortunately, there are thousands of others just like me out there who are not as lucky to have the amazing support system I do. I have constantly told people that I amnot unlucky to be handed this challenge, rather I am fortunate to be given it at such a young age. Not only does it give me the strength to fight it, but it gives me the “shock and awe” value to bring awareness to the community around me, gain support from those affected by my challenge, and the vocal platform to rally the troops. Well, rallying is exactly what I have in mind for you, and I ask for all of you to “Get Your Rear in Gear,” in some way or another.
At this very moment “My Army” has already raised a mind blowing $22,607.84, with 113 individuals signed up for the walk. That is without many of you knowing how to promote, share or email your individual fund raising page. My challenge to you: let’s get that number to $50,000. I am going to give you the tools to do it. Not because of the glitz and glam of money, because of the thousands of others like me who are unfortunate to have the support system that they so righteously deserve. Because we can create awareness to prevent your loved ones from having to battle this dreadful disease. Because we can find a cure so we can finally stomp on the throat of this monster and yell out “You will not hurt anyone anymore!”
